Video History Scotland is a website where DVDs of Scotland's recent history can be purchased. These were written and produced by the late Colin M. Liddell who devoted a lifetime to capturing, collecting and preserving some of the most rare film footage used in these productions. Colin was a renowned cinematographer and historian whose passion and interest in film and history was recognised by so many throughout Scotland where he would often be invited to speak or share his knowledge and film archives with audiences or the press. Colin's particular favourite areas of interest included his "Lovely Valley" The Vale of Leven and the surrounding areas of Loch Lomond, Balloch, Dumbarton and Renton. The website is being continued by his son, also Colin.

The Celtic Cultural Studies website is an independently-published and peer-reviewed interdisciplinary academic journal. Its aim is to publish papers on diverse subjects relating to all cultures from the Celtic territories and their diasporas, from all historical periods and geographical locations, within a broadly Cultural Studies perspective. They provide a section on "Gaelic Cultural Identity and Interaction in the Lennox and Menteith".

Ainmean-Àite na h-Alba is the new national body for Gaelic place-names in Scotland. They are a partnership drawing on expertise from a number of nationally and internationally recognised organisations as well as local knowledge.

They determine authoritative forms of Gaelic place-names and street signs throughout Scotland for a variety of users.  Such information might be used by local authorities and other public bodies, mapping agencies and members of the public.

The Balloch Community Web is a list of links that may of interest to visitors to the area.
